Inspired by my writing partner, Dave Higgins’ mini-stories that he calls drabbles, I’ve decided to start writing my own. Here’s the first:
Brian did his best to smile at the committee, despite his nervousness. Fumbling off his glasses, he wiped at the steam on them and replaced them, then turned his attention to the table beside him.
“Cheese?” a panelist asked.
Brian nodded. “Cheese.”
“You’ve invented a type of magnet that only works on cheese?”
“And some kinds of yoghurt. The applications are limitless.”
“Mobile devices, automobiles, screens, imagine it…” Brian could see the committee imagining a future filled with the smell of hot cheese.
What do you think?
What do you think of my first drabble? I’d love to hear your feedback.
Get Into The Action
For a limited time, I'm giving away the first two books in the Bytarend Fantasy series and the Hard Vacuum science fiction series for free.
Bytarend is fast, fun fantasy that'll have you on the edge of your seat. Hard Vacuum is hard-talking, violent science fiction and my tribute to 80s action movies.
