Finally Alone (Advent Ghosts)

As in previous years, I’m taking part in Loren Eaton’s Advent Ghosts event (http://isawlightningfall.blogspot.no/2016/12/advent-ghosts-2016-stories.html). In the event, authors write an eerie 100 word story for the season. So without further ado, here’s my story:

Rex was with me when everyone died. I was six, not ready for a world without adults. He guarded my door when the other dogs came, kept me warm in winter. And now he’s gone. I buried him in the town graveyard. It isn’t meant to be for animals, but I don’t care. Who’s going to stop me?

I miss the warmth of his fur and the protection of his fangs. But I miss his friendship more. In his final year, he grew slow and tired and I protected him. We were the only friends in the world.

Get Into The Action

For a limited time, I'm giving away the first two books in the Bytarend Fantasy series and the Hard Vacuum science fiction series for free.

Bytarend is fast, fun fantasy that'll have you on the edge of your seat. Hard Vacuum is hard-talking, violent science fiction and my tribute to 80s action movies.

Grab all four books for free:
