Mixtape for week 16, 2013

Mixtape for week 16, 2013

This week, my top ten are:

  1. Das Racist – Rainbow in the Dark

Hip-hop. Despite the dubious band name, Das Racist are actually a great rap group. Rainbow in the Dark is a catchy song.

  1. DJ Khaled – I’m On One – Explicit Version

Hip-hop. A bit of a super-group of hip-hop stars with a fantastic rap.

  1. Paramore – Still Into You

Rock. A new release and a new band for me. ‘Still into you’ is an upbeat, fun song.

  1. New Politics – Harlem

Rock. A kicking tune, with a banging drum backing.

  1. Andrew W.K. – I Get Wet

Rock. An oldie, but a great song that drives along, automatically lifting your mood. Highly recommended for when you’re feeling low.

  1. Jon Sebastian – I Get Wet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmwiJLjZ1Xg

Acoustic. A totally different take on the same song. This was actually the version that I heard first and I love it. Jon Sebastian is an extremely talented musician.

  1. Tyga – Molly

Hip-hop. A very catchy new hip-hop song from Tyga.

  1. The Shins – New Slang

Acoustic. By no means new, but new for me. I really love this song.

  1. Middle Class Rut – Busy Bein’ Born

Rock. Reminds me of Rage Against the Machine.

  1. Psy – Gentleman

Pop. Psy’s new song is a very silly song, but somehow it’s difficult not to smile when listening to it.

Get Into The Action

For a limited time, I'm giving away the first two books in the Bytarend Fantasy series and the Hard Vacuum science fiction series for free.

Bytarend is fast, fun fantasy that'll have you on the edge of your seat. Hard Vacuum is hard-talking, violent science fiction and my tribute to 80s action movies.
