Mixtape for week 18, 2013

Here’s my top ten for this week:

Mark Ronson & The Business Intl – The Bike Song

Electro-pop. I might be a little late to the party, but I’ve been catching up with Mark Ronson & The Business Intl this week. This is a fun, jaunty electro-pop song.

Mark Ronson & The Business Intl – Bang Bang Bang – Explicit Version

Electro-pop. I couldn’t decide on just one from Mark Ronson & The Business Intl this week, so here’s the second song. Incredibly catchy tune. 80s electro-pop updated.

Elliphant – Down On Life

Electronic. A random find on Spotify, the Elliphant EP is pretty good. Sometimes clicking on random songs pays off.

Joan Baez – Donna Donna

Acoustic. An old song, but new for me. Very nice tune.

Bishop Allen – Click, Click, Click, Click

Acoustic. A bit newer and happier than Joan Baez, this song is a chirpy, little acoustic tune.

G. Love & Special Sauce – Gimme Some Lovin’

Acoustic. A third acoustic song for the mixtape, this has a very different flavour to the other two, sounding more like a good session recording.

How To Destroy Angels – Keep it together

Indie. Reminiscent of Portishead or Massive Attack, this is a great electronic tune.

King Tuff – Bad Thing

Rock. A bit of a throwback rock tune, sounding like it could have come out of the sixties or seventies.

H.P. Baxxter – Who the Fuck Is H.P. Baxxter?

Dance. A dance song with a lot of solid bass.

Kastenholt & Dee – One Two Fuck You – Radio Version

Dance. Some dance songs just hit the right buttons. This is a nice break from the endless copy-paste dance songs that have been out recently.

Get Into The Action

For a limited time, I'm giving away the first two books in the Bytarend Fantasy series and the Hard Vacuum science fiction series for free.

Bytarend is fast, fun fantasy that'll have you on the edge of your seat. Hard Vacuum is hard-talking, violent science fiction and my tribute to 80s action movies.
