Review of “Let’s Get Digital” by David Gaughran

Lets Get DigitalEarlier this week, I read David Gaughran’s Let’s Get Digital. I had previously read Let’s Get Visible by David Gaughran, hopping over the first book as I figured it would be a little basic for the level I was at, at the time. In that, I was kind of right, but this is a great book that I’m glad I read.

Let’s Get Digital is a beginners guide for independent, or self-, publishing. It goes through the details of how to get your book from finished, edited manuscript to published book through Amazon’s KDP service, along with other services. It goes into all the details of publishing, with the author explaining his choices in each area in detail so you can make informed decisions.

Most of the information in the book is things I’ve picked up over the last couple of years from a variety of sources, but this book has all of the information in one easy location, saving beginning authors the trouble of tracking it all down.

If you’re a beginner author, looking for a guide on how to get your book out into all of the stores online, this book is highly recommended. For more advanced authors, it’s may be a little too simple to be of practical use, but I found it a good way to motivate myself to write a little more while I was reading it.

I give Let’s Get Digital 5/5 stars. Go and grab a copy over on Amazon here:

Get Into The Action

For a limited time, I'm giving away the first two books in the Bytarend Fantasy series and the Hard Vacuum science fiction series for free.

Bytarend is fast, fun fantasy that'll have you on the edge of your seat. Hard Vacuum is hard-talking, violent science fiction and my tribute to 80s action movies.

  1. It’s a great book and it’s just been updated. Apparently over 60% has been changed for the 2nd edition bringing it bang up to date.

  2. I went to get the update and realized I never bought it in the first place! Been on my TBR list for a long time and I did read Visible, so I picked this up last night.
