Cantan’s Critical Companions Group Signup

Sorry, open applications to become a reviewer are now closed due to popular demand. Cantan’s Critical Companions is now invitation only.

Don’t worry, though, it’s easy to get invited. Just leave a review for any of my books on Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, or iTunes, and then send me an email with a link to simon @ If you’re a regular reviewer, chances are an invitation will wing its way back to you!

Otherwise, you can grab a whole bunch of free books by clicking “Get Free Books!” in the menu above and joining my regular mailing list. There’s lots of fun stuff happening over there, too πŸ™‚

  1. I did not really know if I was going to like this book.I am not a great fan of fantasy books (fantasy films, yes). However, this was a very good read. The sign of a good book is that you can visualise the characters, even the bad ones. That was certainly the case with this one. The second sign is that if I had to put down this book for a reason and then return to it I could mentally pick it up where I left off. I have read many books but I have had to read the last few pages of the previous chapter to remember where I left off. I am now eagerly anticipating g the second bite book.

  2. on par with all the the great writers of the style, Sir Terry Pratchett (now sadly missed), Harry Harrison Robert Asprin etc,you can really get into this, see all the players and sights ,almost smell the air, stink

  3. This one HV2 was even better than HV1.

    Now I can’t wait for…could it be HV3??

Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

    • Hi Allen,
Excellent! Glad you liked the book. I might have to rack my brain to come up with the next title πŸ˜€

I don’t suppose I could twist your arm for a review? HV1 & 2 are very short of reviews right now.

      Thanks for the nice feedback,
