The Nitty Gritty of Writing a Novel – Script Writing

In the latest episode of Nitty Gritty, I go into how and why I write a script before I start writing a book. If you’ve missed out on any of the episodes, you can catch up with all of them here on YouTube.

Script writing is an important stage in my writing process, as it allows me to divide up the “work” of writing a novel. As I only have a limited amount of mental resources to dedicate to imagining the world and coming up with the story, I separate the two. I come up with the story first and then give the world more depth and colour later.

If you’ve a question about writing or publishing a novel, leave me a comment below and I’ll be happy to answer it.

Get Into The Action

For a limited time, I'm giving away the first two books in the Bytarend Fantasy series and the Hard Vacuum science fiction series for free.

Bytarend is fast, fun fantasy that'll have you on the edge of your seat. Hard Vacuum is hard-talking, violent science fiction and my tribute to 80s action movies.
